VIDEO: NUFC new-boy Victor Fernandez scores stunning solo goal in U-23’s win

Just days after returning from his shock inclusion in Benitez’s Irish training camp, Newcastle’s 19-year old winger Victor Fernandez scored a superb solo goal in the U-23’s 3-0 win at Gateshead on Saturday.

Fernandez arrived on Tyneside from Spanish side UE Cornella in January, joining a new wave of young talent recruited by Rafa Benitez, with United adding to that this summer with the arrival of Stefan O’Connor from Arsenal and Josef Yarney from Everton.

See below to watch his stunning solo goal against Gateshead on Saturday. If this is anything to go by, the Barcelona-born winger certainly seems to have benefited from his week with the senior squad in Ireland last week!

An impressive run and devastating finish from the Spaniard, who’s been catching the eye for the U-23’s since his arrival earlier this year.

One to keep an eye on perhaps.
