Newcastle are lining up a £4m move for Hull City star Sam Clucas according to the Hull Daily Mail today, with reports suggesting the midfielder is keen on a return to the Premier League.
The 26-year-old was Hull’s shining light in an otherwise dismal relegation season last term, winning the club’s Player of the Year award, gaining the admiration of England manager Gareth Southgate who is believed to be watching his progress.
It seems his emergence has not gone unnoticed Rafa Benitez either, with reports today that he is keen to strike a cut-price £4m deal for the versatile midfielder.
Clucas can operate centrally or out wide and that, combined with his impressive season in the top flight last year, suggests he could be an able and much needed alternative to the likes of Jack Colback and Henri Saivet.
He may not be the marquee signing we crave this summer, but with midfield reinforcements needed, a £4m deal would represent good business.
£4 million!!! Are you guys serious? Pay the right price(£10m or thereabouts) or go and rob some other poor bastards.
