- Arsenal are preparing a €30million move for Sporting Lisbon midfielder William Carvalho and (pinch of salt alert) Newcastle are also believed to be in the mix for his signature according to Portuguese outlet ‘Record’.
- According to the Northern Echo, Rafa Benitez has put popular Newcastle United defender Chancel Mbemba up for sale this summer, with the Spaniard looking to trim his squad over the coming weeks.
- Despite suggestions that Newcastle will look to cash in on Karl Darlow this summer, Benitez has insisted that he “hopes” that the NUFC stopper has a future at the club.
- Newcastle are eyeing a £4m bid for Sam Clucas – Hull City’s player of the year for 2016/17 (The Hull Daily Mail).
- Liverpool have sanctioned Sheyi Ojo’s loan move to several interested Championship clubs, but have told NUFC they must stump up £10m if they wish to sign him permanently (Daily Star).
- Newcastle United are lining up a move for RB Leipzig goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi (ESPN).
