Newcastle United manager Rafael Benitez has revealed that his side will be very busy during the final weeks of the summer transfer window.
Newcastle United’s struggles during the current transfer window have been well documented and it would be fair to say that the Magpies squad in its current state could struggle to retain their Premier League status.
As a result, fans are getting really worried at the moment and the club certainly need to recruit a couple of fresh faces to St. James’ Park in order bring back the optimism to Tyneside.
Manager Rafael Benitez has certainly been frustrated with the club hierarchy not financially backing him over the summer but the Spaniard has finally made an admission which can be viewed very encouraging by the fans.
Speaking ahead of Newcastle’s clash against Huddersfield Town, Benitez stated that Newcastle will recruit a host of new players during the final weeks of the transfer window and revealed that his side will be pulling off some surprises.
Benitez said, “Yes, I think it will be until the end because you have teams with massive money and a lot of teams without money, so these teams, everybody is waiting until the last minute, maybe, to put you in a position where you have to sell players cheaply and then you are maybe trying to do the same. It depends.
“Some of the names that we are considering now have not been in the Press, so maybe there could be a surprise for you. We have done some deals during the last year and a half that nobody knew about. We had been working on those players maybe for months in some cases and nobody knew.
“You have a couple of names in the Press and an agent knows, and maybe he is feeding a good journalist sometimes and then it starts creating a mess.”
