According to reports from Italian outlet Calcio Mercato, Newcastle United have expressed an interest in securing the services of Sampdoria attacking midfielder Dennis Praet.
Newcastle United have endured a largely frustrating period in the summer transfer window so far but nonetheless, it is expected that the Magpies will be ramping up things in the next 10 days or so and a host of players have unsurprisingly been linked with the Tyneside based outfit.
Signing a new attacking player will be high on the priority list for manager Rafael Benitez and Newcastle have been touted with moves for the likes of Lucas Perez, Robert Snodgrass as well as Stevan Jovetic over the past few days.
Now in fresh rumors from Italian outlet Calcio Mercato, claims are being made that the Premier League outfit are currently pondering a swoop for Sampdoria attacking midfielder Dennis Praet.
Praet is a talented player who earned a move to Sampdoria last season after impressing for Anderlecht but the 23-year-old was not quite able to produce his best in Italy and as a result, the Serie A side are said to be open to parting with the youngster this summer if a good offer comes along.
Newcastle have been linked with Praet in the past and it is believed that they are currently looking at the possibility of signing the Belgian international but the Magpies will in all probability have to splash more than £10million to recruit the talented player.
