According to reports from Calcio Mercato, Newcastle United have not placed a bid for Dennis Praet but he can be signed for around £22million.
Newcastle United are expected to ramp things up during the final days of the transfer window after a frustrating period throughout the summer and one name who has been strongly linked with the Magpies is midfielder Dennis Praet.
Praet is a talented midfielder plying his trade for Italian Serie A side Sampdoria and widespread reports had claimed that Newcastle had placed a bid of around £13million for the Belgian international.
However in an update which is certain to annoy the Newcastle United fans, Calcio Mercato have gone on to claim that Newcastle have not placed any bid for Praet as of yet and that Sampdoria do not want to sell the 23-year-old.
With Sampdoria not open to selling, Newcastle can sign Praet if they activate his release clause of around £22million but with funds currently tight at St. James’ Park, it does look like the Magpies will now have to focus on transfer targets elsewhere.
