Newcastle United manager Rafael Benitez has gone on to dismiss claims that he is set to take over at West Ham United by replacing Slaven Bilic.
Benitez has clearly been left very unhappy with the lack of transfer activity Newcastle United have undergone this summer and the Spaniard has not been shy to speak his mind in criticizing the club board as well as the quality of his players.
Due to the unhappiness, there has been speculation that Benitez might well end up leaving Newcastle United this summer and recent reports had claimed that Premier League outfit West Ham United were plotting a move for Benitez.
Slaven Bilic has come under a lot of pressure at West Ham following a poor campaign last term as well as due to a difficult start to the current season despite spending a fortune on new players and as a result, Benitez had been touted as a replacement at the London Stadium for the Croatian boss.
Now ahead of Newcastle’s Carabao Cup clash against Nottingham Forest, Benitez was queried regarding the potential move to West Ham but the 57-year-old categorically denied such claims by simply responding, “I know nothing.”
Benitez looks set to stay at Newcastle for the time being but the club certainly need to back him in the final days of the window in order to keep him happy.
