Rafael Benitez has stated that his current Newcastle United squad will be a lot stronger after the end of the summer transfer window.
Newcastle United’s need to improve their squad was further emphasized following a disappointing 3-2 defeat against Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday and with only a week remaining before the end of the summer transfer window, time is quickly running out for the Magpies to make new signings.
Fans are certainly getting impatient regarding Newcastle’s passive approach in the market but as a huge relief, manager Rafael Benitez has gone on to make encouraging admissions about his side’s expected activity in the transfer front during the upcoming week.
Following the midweek game against Nottingham Forest, Benitez has stated that he expects a number of players to arrive to St. James’ Park as well as the unwanted names to be leaving the club within the next seven days and he assured the fans that the squad will be 100% stronger by the end of the window.
Benitez said regarding potential transfers, “It will be different when the window shuts because we are expecting players to come. We are trying to move players in, and at the same time, we are trying to move players out. It will be different, 100 per cent.”
