Newcastle United youngster Yasin Ben El-Mhanni has expressed his desire to become a fans favourite at St. James’ Park amid talks regarding his exit this summer.
Newcastle United snapped up the very skillful Yasin Ben El-Mhanni from non-league football last summer and the youngster, who has acted as a body double and skill consultant to Neymar as well as Cristiano Ronaldo, even managed to make two FA Cup appearances for the Magpies.
However, it seemed like El-Mhanni’s long term future at Newcastle was left in doubt due to the fact that he has not yet agreed to a new contract with the Magpies despite having only one year left on his current deal and the likes of Leicester City, Brighton & Hove Albion and Napoli were all said to be monitoring the situation.
To all but quash talks about his exit though, El-Mhanni has gone on to state that he has already visualized a long and successful career at Newcastle United, and added that he aims of becoming a fans favourite at St. James’ Park.
The 21-year-old said, “I hope one day I can be a fan favourite – that would be nice. I just want to play first-team football at whatever level and I think maybe going on loan would be a good idea for six months and then to prove myself, come back and play first team football here hopefully.
“I feel like I do have a lot to fulfil and expectations, people expect a bit from me, so I just need to live up to it. It’s about working hard and I could see myself playing for Newcastle in the long-run.”
