According to reports from the Shields Gazette, Newcastle United have now decided not to dispense with the services of Dwight Gayle.
Gayle scored a stunning 23 goals in the Championship last season to help Newcastle United earn promotion into the Premier League but he has struggled to impress in the top flight this term during the first few matches of the current campaign.
As a result, it had been reported that Newcastle would be looking to offload Gayle on transfer deadline day and with Fulham believed to have placed a bid of around £15million for the 26-year-old, his departure from St. James’ Park looked very likely.
However, it has now been revealed by the Shields Gazette that Newcastle have decided against selling Gayle and this is due to the fact that the Magpies feel they will be unable to bring in a replacement for the ex-Crystal Palace in time before the passing of the transfer deadline.
