According to reports carried out by HITC, Crystal Palace are contemplating a move for Newcastle United manager Rafael Benitez.
Rafael Benitez has certainly been left very frustrated at the lack of transfer activity at Newcastle United over the summer and his annoyance would surely have been exacerbated after the Magpies failed to bring in a single new player to St. James’ Park on deadline day despite promises from the board.
As a result, it has widely been stated that Benitez could be walking away from Newcastle United and that West Ham United could be the Spaniard’s next destination, with the Hammers said to be ready to pay his buy-out clause at St. James’ Park which is believed to be around £6million.
Now according to reports, even Crystal Palace have joined in the race to acquire the services of Benitez and the club hierarchy are considering the 57-year-old as a possible replacement for the under fire Frank De Boer.
However, it is unclear as to whether Palace would be open to paying Benitez’s £6million clause and the Spaniard will probably have to stump up the fee himself if he is interested in a switch to Selhurst Park.
