For years we have been hoping to see a product of the youth ranks make the senior step up, and if his form out on loan is anything to go by, then we may have just found our best hope in 19-year old Sean Longstaff.
The midfielder bagged an impressive 10 goals in 13 games for the U-23’s last season before being sent on loan to Kilmarnock. Following the signing of a new a two-year deal on Tyneside this summer, he was sent to Blackpool earlier this summer to continue his development.
To say Longstaff has impressed is an understatement, scoring 4 goals in 4 games thus far in League One, with this one being nominated for the EFL’s goal of the month for August:

Here’s hoping his stunning form can continue, with us looking like we have a real player on our hands if his recent development is anything to go by. Keep it up Sean!
