Just as you think Sunderland’s season couldn’t get any worse – with Simon Grayson’s side sitting 20th in the Championship – it did last night, with their latest defeat coming quite brilliantly at the hands of former NUFC striker Daryl Murphy, whose 86th minute strike saw Nottingham Forest to a 1-0 win at the Stadium of Light.
The 34-year old secured a move to Nottingham Forest this summer, but it appears his legacy is continuing with Newcastle United after scoring a dramatic late winner against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light last night!

Murphy spent 5 seasons on Wearside from 2005-2010, however has been known more recently for his stint on Tyneside, having became quite a popular figure at St. James’ Park during our promotion season last year.
Another sickening blow for the Mackems – who are still without a home win in 2017 – but yet another comical moment for us to enjoy – and that we did:

I just don’t understand why their fans have deserted them like rats leaving the sinking ship, Div one beacons for the once great FA cup winners, and self proclaimed best supporters in the land.
I wonder if they are going to Boro instead, can’t smell them in the Toon yet….. 🙂

They’ll be playing their proper local rivals, the Heed, soon enough 😛
