Matt Ritchie – the man with a sensational stat matched only by Man Utd & City stars so far this season

Anyone who doubted Matt Ritchie’s ability to mix it with the big boys has quickly been proved wrong, with the winger already registering 4 assists in just 5 games so far this season – making him the second best assister in the league so far this season!

As you can see below, the NUFC star is mixing it with some of the best playmakers the Premier League has to offer, with only Manchester United’s Henrikh Mkhitaryan bettering his tally of 4, whilst Man City stars David Silva and Kevin De Bruyne have 4 and 3 to their name respectively.

It’s also worth mentioning that both Man United and City have both scored a whopping 16 goals in their 5 league games so far, where as we have score just 6, making Ritchie’s 4 assists all the more impressive.

Ritchie’s work rate and never say die attitude epitomises everything we love in a player, but the quality he possesses on that left-foot is equally as impressive.

Each of his four assists have came from crosses, three being headers (two being corners met by Lascelles!) and one being a perfectly weighted cross converted by Christian Atsu against Stoke on Saturday.

Ritchie was the man who made us tick last season, and it’s great to see the winger playing an equally important role in our team in the top flight.
