Brighton's loss is NUFC's gain as Hughton's men endure difficult week ahead of Sunday's game

Sunday sees us take on some rather familiar opponents in Brighton, and Chris Hughton's men have not had the most ideal of weeks to prepare, being beaten in extra time at Bournemouth on Tuesday after being forced to field their second string due to squad concerns.

Hughton did still take positives from their 1-0 Carabo Cup defeat to Bournemouth on Tuesday and whilst he may have made 10 changes from Friday's league defeat against The Cherries, it may work in our favour that we've had more time to recover and prepare for Sunday's game.

Midfielders Steve Sidwell and Beram Kayal remain sidelined for the Seagulls, meaning Davey Propper and Dale Stephens are Hughton's only fit central midfielders, while injury concerns over Sam Baldock and Izzy Brown make Tomer Hemed and Glenn Murray his only fit forwards - exposing their threadbare squad and justifying his decision to play his reserves.

Brighton fans are not happy however and have since vented at his team selection, creating a potentially atmospheric mood on the South-Coast ahead of Sunday's game.

With this in mind, we appear to be entering Sunday's game in better shape than the Seagulls, but there'll be no room for complacency. After all, they'll be looking to right the wrongs of last seasons capitulation that handed us the Championship title!
