Newcastle United are keeping tabs on Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Valon Berisha after it was revealed that we had scouts present to watch him in Europa League action earlier this month.
The 24-year old is one of the star players at current Austrian Champions Red Bull Salzburg – the club that have produced top talents such as Sadio Mane and Naby Keita – with Berisha bagging 8 goals and 8 assists from midfield last season.
We are in dire needed of added creativity in midfield, with Ayoze Perez’s inept performance against Brighton being criticised recently, and it seems the club are casting their eye over Berisha, with club scouts confirmed to have been present to watch him recently:

It was revealed last night that Newcastle and Leicester had scouts present to watch Berisha in Salzburg’s Europa League encounter with Portuguese side Vitória Guimarães earlier this month, with the midfielder happening to have scored that night – meaning he was likely to have impressed those in attendance.
It’s too early to know whether we will be pursuing the player in January, but with The Chronicle recently confirming that Newcastle have assigned scouts with a mission to find a new attacking midfielder, the £12m-rated Berisha could just be one of our options in the transfer window’s to come.
