Revealed: The role Amanda Staveley plans to take up at NUFC if her takeover attempt is successful

It has been revealed in The Chronicle today that Amanda Staveley intends to be the ‘front woman’ opposed to the facilitator of her proposed takeover at NUFC – meaning she’d have a central role as ‘Chairwoman’ if successful, with her middle-eastern partners likely to work alongside her and provide the financial muscle behind club.

It was confirmed yesterday that Staveley had signed a non-disclosure agreement after several outlets made her interest in taking over from Mike Ashley known.

With that ‘interest’ in mind, The Chronicle have confirmed today that she has every intention of running the club herself via her PCP Capital Partners firm – worth an estimated £28bn.

The reports states that ‘details of where the funding would come from and her plans for the club remain sketchy’, however it is key that she is NOT part of this deal with the intention of solely brokering it for another party.

The Chronicle reveal that her ‘enthusiasm for the takeover has grown since her first trip to St James’ Park’, stating that she was taken aback by the friendly and warm welcome she was given, also being ‘sold’ on the vision of what the club could become under her reign.

The biggest issue could be her valuation of the club against Ashley’s, with the two appearing to be some way apart, however there is little denying that big developments have been made on the deal this week.

It is not yet known if she will be attending tomorrow’s game against Crystal Palace, but above all else, let’s hope for another three points before we get carried away with her potential arrival.
