Boost for NUFC as Burnley’s star man could be forced to sit out of tonight’s game

A potential boost for us ahead of tonight’s game at Turf Moor, with news that Burnley striker Chris Wood is rated as ‘touch and go’ after failing to full recover from a hamstring problem.

The 6ft 3′ striker pipped Dwight Gayle to last season’s Championship top scorer, bagging 27 goals in the league – including a last minute equaliser in our 1-1 home draw to Leeds United earlier in the year.

He became Burnley’s club record signing over the summer, and since making his £15m move from Leeds, he’s scored 4 goals in 9 appearances for the Clarets, meaning he’d be a big miss if he is forced to sit out tonight.

Wood was forced off with a hamstring problem in their 3-0 defeat to Man City last time out and Burnley boss Sean Dyche has rated their top scorer as ‘touch and go’ for tonight’s game.

He’s big, strong, good in the air and a real danger man in the box, so hopefully he is unable to make it for our sake. It really would be a blow for them – especially with star goalkeeper Tom Heaton also missing out through injury.
