NUFC fan sends in hilarious prank job application following Simon Grayson’s sacking at Sunderland

Simon Grayson’s spell at Sunderland was put to an end last night after a 3-3 draw to bottom of the league Bolton at the Stadium of Light, and it hasn’t taken NUFC fans long to rub salt in the wounds – with an anonymous fan sending in an amusing fake job application pretending to be the Mackems ex-manager!

Just hours after Grayson was sacked following last night’s match at the Stadium of Light, a C.V was sent into the Back Page Newcastle sports memorabilia shop, applying to to a vacancy at their Metro store job under the name of ‘S Grayson’!

Here’s the brilliant application that was shared on Twitter by the store itself:

I don’t think he got the job somehow!

In all seriousness, it’s been a miserable 2017 for our north-east rivals and an equally tough time for Grayson since he took over on Wearside following their relegation in the summer.

They’re yet to win a single home game during the calendar year and Grayson had to go. They were spiralling towards League One if their shocking form continued, with them collecting just 10 points in 15 games during his tenure, currently residing in the bottom three of the Championship alongside Burton and Bolton.

Sunderland’s demise has been amusing given how they laughed at us just over 12 months ago, however a part of me would be reluctant to see them disappear from the top tiers of English football. I want to see another Tyne and Wear derby!
