He may not be getting picked by Rafa Benitez at club level, but Aleksandar Mitrovic can’t stop scoring for Serbia, with the popular striker getting on the scoresheet for his country once again in their 2-0 win in China today.
Despite us having scored just 10 goals in 11 Premier League matches this season, Rafa Benitez has favoured Joselu ahead of the Serbian all season – with even the out of sorts Dwight Gayle getting a chance ahead of Mitrovic in last weekend’s home defeat to Burnley.
Mitrovic hasn’t started in the league all season, but his goal for Serbia today was his fourth of the season in all competitions, heading in from close range in their 2-0 win today:

It’s his 9th goal in 11 games for Serbia, and it’ll send another message to Rafa Benitez that he is ready and waiting for his chance in the NUFC side.
Whether he gets that chance is another matter however, with Benitez showing no signs that Mitrovic is part of his plans at the club.
