Romelu Lukaku sends message to NUFC ahead of Saturday’s trip to Manchester United

Ahead of our trip to Old Trafford this weekend, Romelu Lukaku has spoken out about Man Utd’s recent dip in form since their superb start to the season, however has warned NUFC that things are about to click into place for them again soon thanks to the return of some key players.

Mourinho’s side initially kept the pace with title rivals Man City at the start of the season, but an injury to Paul Pogba and a loss of form for star striker Lukaku has coincided in a bad run for the Red Devils.

Speaking to Sky Sports, the Belgian striker – who is without a goal in his last 7 outings – said the following ahead of Saturday’s late kick off on BT Sport:

“Lately, we haven’t performed like we did at the start of the season.

“We started by blowing teams away, being dominant and creating chances.

“But in the last few weeks we didn’t play at the same level and that made it more difficult for me.

“That is the sort of thing you have to go through in the season, but now there are players coming back from injury, and hopefully we can deliver performances even better than at the start of the season.

“We can create more chances and more goals.”

Paul Pogba is now back training and is expected to feature on Saturday, with the likes of Rojo, Carrick and Fellaini also in contention to return and play some part.

Pogba’s return is most likely the key factor Lukaku is referring to here however, with Man Utd’s record with and without the Frenchman saying all you need to know about his influence on their team:

It’ll be a tough game in Saturday’s late kick off this weekend – here’s hoping we’re up for the test!
