Mitrovic wants out at NUFC & TWO Premier League rivals have upped their interest – Reports

Some strong claims from Serbian outlet Mondo, who state that Aleksandar Mitrovic now wants out at NUFC after ‘becoming frustrated by his lack of game time’ – with Brighton and Southampton believed to have registered an interest in the striker ahead of the January transfer window.

The story claims Mitrovic will leave Newcastle in January in search of some regular playing time ahead of next summer’s World Cup, and despite links with China, Championship clubs and Anderlecht emerging over the past week, Premier League duo Brighton and Southampton are said to be keen on taking him off Newcastle’s hands.

This comes after he scored his 9th goal in 11 games for Serbia on Friday, however his form for his country clearly hasn’t been enough to convince Rafa Benitez that he deserves a place in his Newcastle United team.

This has frustrated several fans – primarily due to how unconvincing fellow striker Joselu has looked at times – however suggestions that he now wants out can’t come as too much of a surprise, with Mitrovic bound to have taken the hint that he does not have a future at NUFC as long as Benitez is in charge.

It will be interesting to see if anything comes of this, with Brighton being a team that have been credited with an interest in Mitrovic in the past, whilst Southampton could be keen in a bid to bolster their attacking options – having also struggled for goals themselves this season.

Would you let him leave for either one of our Premier League rivals if an acceptable offer arrived?
