It’s official, Amanda Staveley and PCP Partners have now made a £300m bid to buy NUFC and journalists across the North-East have weighed in with their thoughts and insights on the matter.
Firstly, NUFC editor for The Chronicle Mark Douglas has revealed that there is now real optimism that this deal could now get done quickly from here on in, admitting that the mood has felt much more positive on the takeover behind the scenes over the past few weeks:
First bid in for #nufc. Feel optimistic this could get done quickly from here on in. https://t.co/zDhNbU3JuN

Not necessarily but ball is rolling now… From what I've been hearing mood music has felt much more positive over last 10-14 days https://t.co/jhjigEWMGR

He admits that things are now ‘progressing quickly’ and feels a deal could most definitely be done by Christmas after things really ‘stepped up a gear’ tonight.
Exciting times, but worth mentioning that this is only a bid. It doesn’t mean it will be accepted.
Nonetheless, this is a hugely promising development and a massive step towards us having much needed new owners of our beloved football club.
