Michael Owen predicts Newcastle vs Watford – revealing concerning stat in the process

Michael Owen has predicted Saturday’s encounter with Watford at St James’ Park will end in a draw – also revealing an incredible stat about the visitors, stating that a Watford win would mean they’ve already picked up more points on the road this term than they did throughout the whole of last season.

The ex-NUFC striker states a draw wouldn’t be the worst result for us, appearing to rate Marco Silva’s side highly based on what he’s seen of them this season and last weekend in their convincing win over West Ham.

Here’s Owen’s comments in full from Bet Victor ahead of this weekend’s clash at St James’:

“After a good start to the campaign Newcastle have now lost their last three PL games in a row and a draw might not be the worst result for the hosts as they try to settle the ship against a very good Watford side.

“The Hornets were too good for West Ham at Vicarage Road last weekend and, if they win at St James’s Park, they will already have picked up more points on the road this term than they did in the whole of last season.

“They may have to settle for a point on this occasion however.”

Whilst a draw wouldn’t be disastrous, with a point stopping our losing streak, I think this is undoubtedly a game Benitez will be really hoping to win.

Don’t get me wrong, Watford have been brilliant so far and it will take a really big performance to beat them, but it’ll be one we’re looking to take all three points from as we head into a busy and tough run of fixtures.

We must not underestimate them however, with Owen’s stat about their away form showing just how transformed they look under Marco Silva.
