After Saturday’s humiliating 3-0 defeat at home to Watford, there’s no doubt that we all want to see some changes made at West Brom tonight.
We’re not sure how how many he’ll make, but I fully expect Rafa to make changes to the side that did not show up on Saturday.
Here’s the NUFC XI we’d love to see him go with at West Brom tonight:
(4-3-2-1) Elliot – Yedlin, Lejeune, Clark, Mbemba – Merino, Hayden, Shelvey – Ritchie, Murphy – Mitrovic.
Mitrovic has to be given his chance in this one for me. I’m not his biggest fan, but that isn’t the point here – he can almost certainly offer more than Joselu has in recent weeks; who needs a rest and looks shot for confidence. It’s harsh to leave Gayle out, but a big man may be needed up front tonight to help deal with their huge threat from set pieces (they have 6/7 6ft+ players likely to be in their side).
Given we’ll be up against the likes of Barry, Livermore and Krychowiak, the middle of midfield must be much more combative and energetic than Mo Diame and Shelvey were as a pair on Saturday. With this in mind, I’d bring Hayden and Merino back into the fold to give us some much needed legs, height and physicality.
In defence, it’s a blow to see Lascelles will be missing once again, but I’d bring Mbemba back in. He’d help us aerially and is a better athlete than Manquillo, so may be able to deal with the potential threat of Matty Phillips down their right.
Let us know your thoughts folks – is this a team you’d be happy to see start against West Brom tonight?

Maybe also Darlow, I would start with Gayle though and see how we go with Mitro and Aarons for last 30 mins, if we need a push for points.Prediction 1-2 HWTL

I would start with the same team only changing Murphy with Aaron’s to give him his long awaited opportunity!
