Alan Shearer has been involved in an altercation with an NUFC fan on Twitter, firing a sly dig at Mike Ashley in the process, stating ‘When you go shopping in Poundstretcher what do you expect?!’ following Saturday’s 3-1 defeat at Chelsea.
Shearer blasted the Newcastle defence in a recent Match of the Day rant, however Alan dished out some positives and negatives after the weekend’s defeat at Stamford Bridge.
He reacted to the game by defending our effort levels in the game – a comment which was not taken well by a fellow NUFC fan:

Alan isn’t wrong in all he says here. Costly mistakes aside, there was a clear gulf in class on that pitch on Saturday – stating we’d have been beaten no matter what side Rafa picked on the day.
Yes certain individuals must do much much better (they’re paid professionals at the end of the day!), but Shearer clearly didn’t want to go overboard on criticism when the effort, to him, was evident.
