NUFC release interesting nominees for November’s player of the month – only one winner for me..

The shortlist for Newcastle’s FUN88 player of the month for November has been announced, with Jacob Murphy, Ciaran Clark and Isaac Hayden having been nominated for the award.

With defeats at home to Bournemouth and Watford, a 4-1 defeat at Old Trafford and a 2-2 draw at West Brom, November’s hardly been a month to shout about, however there’s only one winner of this for me – and that’s Jacob Murphy.

Ciaran Clark has, at times, been the best of a bad bunch at the back over the past month, also scoring a vital goal in the 2-2 draw at The Hawthorns, however it’s hard to give a defender your vote given we shipped 10 in 4 games over November.

Hayden is always competitive has done ok, but the vote has to go to Murphy for me. He made his first league start in a promising display at Old Trafford, was without doubt the only player to have performed in the horrendous home defeat to Watford and showed more glimpses of his talent in the 2-2 draw at West Brom.

Voting closes at 12pm on Thursday (7th December) and our vote has gone to Murphy; who for me deserves some recognition for his much improved performances after taking some criticism during a difficult few months at the club.
