Michael Owen reveals TWO striking stats in his prediction for tomorrow’s game vs Leicester City

Some surprisingly interesting stuff has been shared by Michael Owen, with the BT Sport pundit revealing TWO intriguing stats in his prediction for Newcastle vs Leicester City this weekend.

Firstly, he reveals that Rafa Benitez has NEVER lost three successive home games in the Premier League – an unwanted record that could come true with a defeat on Saturday (with Bournemouth and Watford beating us in our last two at SJP).

Secondly, in contrast to Rafa’s record, Michael explains how Leicester manager Claude Puel has NEVER won three successive games in the Premier League – a stat that would come true if they won this weekend following their recent back-to-back wins over Tottenham and Burnley.

Here’s what the former NUFC striker had this to say in the game in his weekly blog on Bet Victor, stating the above stats and giving his prediction for the game:

“Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez has never lost three successive home PL games but the Magpies have only won once since mid-September and their dip in form is a major concern.

“Leicester boss Claude Puel – on the other hand – has never won three successive PL games but goes into the trip to St James’s Park on the back of successive wins. A point may suit the hosts more than the visitors but I expect to see an entertaining draw.”

PREDICTION: Scoring draw

He loves a stat does Michael and these appear to be one of his redeeming qualities – as far as his online punditry goes at least.

They’re quite telling too. Hopefully, the trend continues for both managers and Rafa maintains his record of never losing three top flight home games on the trot.

The only way both managers records would stay in tact is with a draw – and that’s what Owen is going for in this one.

I think I know the answer to this, but would you take a point on Saturday?
