Jermaine Jenas sends strong message to 'ridiculous' NUFC fans in BT Sport rant
Former midfielder Jermaine Jenas has hit out at NUFC fans in a bold rant from the BT Sport pundit, claiming fans are 'ridiculous' to be calling for Rafa Benitez's head - claiming no new manager would do a better job than Benitez given the 'Championship side' at his disposal.
This is a passionate plea to United from Jenas, however a lot of what he says here is not wrong. Whilst claims that it's 'remarkable' that we aren't bottom of the league are a little far fetched, I totally agree with the rest of his comments.
Here's what the 34-year-old had to say to frustrated NUFC fans when speaking on BT Sport over the weekend"
“Calling for Benitez’s head is ridiculous,”
"It’s a Championship side that they’ve got there. It’s remarkable that they’re in a position they’re in and not already bottom.
"You can chant for a new manager, but if he comes in he’s not going to do a better job than Rafa.”
If you're an NUFC fan reading this who is genuinely believes we'd be better off without Benitez, I ask you to comment with a realistic alternative who could do any better?
Benitez is NOT above criticism, but anyone hounding out the best manager we've had since Sir Bobby ought to give their head a shake.
It may only be the minority calling for the managers head, but it's woefully short sighted to honestly believe he is the real problem here.
Let's rally around Rafa and the players and help OUR team fight off relegation.
