Sky Sports reveal the number of new recruits Benitez hopes to bring in at NUFC this month

According to Sky Sports, Rafa Benitez is hoping to bring in FOUR new signings to Newcastle over this month’s January transfer window – and ambitious total given the gaffer STILL doesn’t know his budget over a week into the new year.

As we all know, this squad is short on quality in several areas and Benitez is desperate to put that right this month in an attempt to stave off another relegation.

Here’s what Sky Sports claimed today in their story covering our potential January business:

“Sky Sports News understands Benitez is hoping to add four new signings to his squad during the January transfer window.”

It’s all good and well hearing this, but whether Benitez will actually be handed the backing to make this happen is a totally different matter.

This transfer nugget from Sky has also been backed up by those from the Chronicle, with writer Andrew Musgrove suggesting that Benitez is keen to make those four signings as goalkeeper, left-back, attacking midfielder and striker this month:

Sky state Rafa is ‘hoping’ for four new faces and that’s the key here. It’s what Benitez and NUFC want and need, but whether that’s what we actually get come February 1st is highly questionable.

Time to Ashley to pull his finger our and step up to the plate. Failure to do so would be risking a THIRD relegation in 10 years.

  1. What a non-article. So, who are these four? You don’t even go through a list of possibles. This is one of your worst articles. Totally stolen from Musgrove, just to have something to publish so you can steal the money from your advertisers – shame!
