Paul Merson has a pop at Chelsea loanee Kenedy before he’s even kicked a ball for NUFC – unbelievable

Less than 24 hours after the loan signing of Chelsea’s Kenedy has been announced, Paul Merson has already had a pop – mocking his performance against Norwich last week and claiming he should spend more time focusing on his football than getting new tattoos!

Now, some of his comments on Sky this morning were in jest, however this was his response when asked what he made of him during last week’s FA Cup clash with Norwich at Stamford Bridge (a game he won the man of the match award in!):

“He’s smothered in tattoos. If he took as much time on the training pitch as lying down on the bed to have tattoos; he’d be the best full back I’ve ever seen!”

Really poor from Merson. Kenedy played brilliantly that night, yet Merson can only manage to pick fault with his tattoos and how he ‘kicked the ball behind the goal’ – choosing to fixate on an overhit cross opposed to his sublime skill, assist for the goal and Man of the match performance.

It’s pretty harmless stuff, but it’s another example of how Sky sometimes like to paint all things NUFC in a bad light.

  2. So Kenedy spends his spare time having tattoos – didn’t Merson spend his spare time in the pub getting pissed?

  3. If merson had concentrated more on the training pitch and less on getting drunk he’d been still only half as good as gazza was
