Sky Sports – Newcastle submit new improved offer for Feyenoord striker Nicolai Jorgensen

Sky Sports have confirmed this morning that we’ve seen a new bid of £15 REJECTED for Feyenoord striker Nicolai Jorgensen – with the Dutch side set to hold out for £20m for the Danish international.
Our initial bid of around £12.5m was rebuffed by the Eredivisie side last week, and we’ve had no joy with our latest offer.
As reported by Sky Sports’ North-East correspondent Keith Downie, Feyenoord appear to be holding out for another £5m – which is in keeping with claims that they’ve slapped at £20m asking price on his head:
The 6ft 3′ striker racked up an impressive 25 goals and 17 assists during Feyenoord’s title winning campaign last year, however there’s been some reservations amount NUFC fans due to several players struggling to adapt to the pace of the Premier League in the past.
With 9 goals in 18 so far this season, he clearly knows where the back of the net is, but whether we up our bid sufficiently or he adapts to English football remains to be seen.
Either way, with 5 days of the window remaining and a much needed striker yet to sign, beggars can’t be choosers!
