At lunchtime today it was widely reported that Daniel Sturridge looked likely to make a loan move to NUFC – yet it is now being reported in the Guardian that West Brom may have beaten us to his signature just before he was set to travel to Tyneside.
It was confirmed by the Chronicle and the Times’ George Caulkin just hours ago that the Liverpool striker was closing in on a loan move to Newcastle, however Caulkin has revealed in the last few moments that Sturridge was due to travel north this lunchtime – but didn’t:
Newcastle were expecting Sturridge to travel north this lunchtime. He hasn’t.

The Guardian now report that West Brom have made a move for him at the last minute and look set to secure a loan deal for the 28-year-old under NUFC’s nose.
Daniel Sturridge may be from that neck of the woods (Midlands), but we struggle to believe he’d pick Pardew and West Brom over Rafa and Newcastle, making us think we’ve probably messed up on some front yet again (not paying his full wage packet? etc.).

Maybe just Maybe it wasn’t us screwing about this time but he wanted too be nearer his home town being from that neck of the woods . And no i am no Ashley lover i hate him as much as the rest of the toonarmy .its just sometimes the club do miss out on players for reasons they can not control. I think also we have dodged a bullet, brilliant player but allways injured .we need someone in that will last the rest of the season .
