Fulham fans’ interesting reaction to the deadline day signing of Aleksandar Mitrovic

Following his surprise deadline day move to Craven Cottage, we’ve taken a look at how Fulham fans have taken to their new signing Aleksandar Mitrovic – and to say they’re over the moon is an understatement!

He’s a coup for the club in some respects, but I found it interesting to see how many Fulham fans saw him as such an incredible signing given he scored just 4 goals in 25 appearances in the second tier last season..

The Serbian looked all set to go on loan to former club Anderlecht, however he was forced to catch the next flight to London, seeing him sign for Fulham instead after his move to the Belgian champions collapsed.

Anyway, here’s some interesting responses from Fulham fans following his signature late on Wednesday night:

There’s one Fulham fan who wasn’t so sure, mind:

So, in general there’s some very very excited Fulham fans out there following his move to the Championship side currently pushing for a spot in the play offs.

He may have struggled in the Championship last season, but I think he’ll do well in that Fulham side. They play good football (as he alludes to in this interview below) and will no doubt create plenty chances for him to finish off.

Here’s his first interview since signing for the club. Interestingly, he says they were the best footballing side in the Championship last season (hard to argue given how they smashed us off the park at St James’ last season), however he doesn’t look all that enthused to have joined!

That being said, Mitro isn’t the most vibrant of speakers, however we do wonder if he’s still frustrated about his return to Anderlecht falling through at the last minute?

Either way, he’ll be happy to be out playing first-team football each week. Something that he needed ahead of this summer’s World Cup.
