BT Sport pundit Michael Owen has made a habit of coming out with some unintentionally amusing quotes during his time in the commentary box, and he’s dropped another one in his prediction for our upcoming game with Manchester United this Sunday.
We’re not sure if he’s on the wind up, but see if you can spot what he’s done in his opening line of his prediction here:
“Newcastle United v Manchester United – Two of my former clubs go head-to-head and I feel United will take the points”
We’re both United’s Michael! It isn’t quite as bad, but we can add this to the likes of “To stay in the game, you have to stay in the game” and “When they don’t score, they hardly ever win”..
Back to his actual prediction of the game itself, and here’s Michael’s full assessment of what he expects to go down at St James’ Park at the weekend:
“Newcastle United v Manchester United..
“Two of my former clubs go head-to-head and I feel United will take the points at a ground where they have won more away PL games (12) than at any other club.
“The Magpies are without a win in their last eight PL home games but, surprisingly, Jose Mourinho has never won a league game at St James’s Park in six previous attempts.
Paul Pogba was left out of the United side against Huddersfield at Old Trafford last weekend but I expect the Frenchman to be back in the starting XI and a winning side at the weekend.”
An interesting mix of stats for this one. Man Utd (or United as Michael likes to call them) have won more times at St James’ Park than any other team, yet Mourinho is YET to win a league game on Tyneside.
What are your predictions for this one folks?
