Good news emerges for NUFC fans on Kenedy’s potential permanent move from Chelsea

The Mirror have revealed that Chelsea loanee Kenedy is ‘open to the prospect’ of completing a permanent move to Newcastle United if we secured our Premier League status over the coming weeks – great news for NUFC fans hoping to see him sign this summer.

The 22-year-old has impressed since arriving from Chelsea on loan in January and put in his most influential display yet in the black and white on Saturday, scoring two goals in our 3-0 win over Southampton at St James’ Park.

Naturally, this has sparked conversation of a potential permanent move for the Brazilian, with the Mirror having suggested that a bid of £15m may be enough to allow the winger swap Chelsea for Newcastle on a permanent basis this summer.

We’re unsure whether that figure will be enough to sign a young player of his potential in this day and age, however it is a real positive sign to hear that Kenedy himself is already open to the idea of signing for the club permanently – providing we stay up:

“The 22-year-old has admitted he is open to the prospect of staying on Tyneside long term if they stay in the Premier League.”

If he continues to shine he may well have a future at Chelsea, however he’s already enjoyed more starts (6) with Newcastle than he has at Chelsea during his two and a half year stint at Stamford Bridge.

With this in mind, it’s easy to see why he may be considering staying, with first team football being essential for a player of his age and untapped potential.

The fee could prove to be the biggest issue, but there’s been some positive signs regarding his potential move to NUFC over the summer – and this one is perhaps the biggest yet.
