North-East reporter reveals the fee NUFC will have to pay to sign Chelsea’s Kenedy permanently

According to a story in the Mirror today, Newcastle will have to pay up to £15m to make Kenedy’s loan move a permanent one this summer – a fee that seems reasonable in this day and age for a talented 22-year-old.

This comes from Simon Bird – the North-East’s reporter for the Daily Mirror – who claims that Benitez will attempt to sign the Brazilian on a permanent deal in the summer should we secure our Premier League status over the coming months.

As confirmed by the Chronicle yesterday, Kenedy’s January loan move to St James’ Park included no buyout clause, however it’s been claimed in the Mirror that a fee ‘up to £15m’ could be enough to see the winger sign permanently:

“Newcastle will try to land Chelsea winger Kenedy on a permanent deal.

“Rafa Benitez will have to pay up to £15m for the Brazilian who has helped lift United away from relegation trouble”.

This seems a reasonable fee to me and one that we may seriously consider should we be in a position to do so this summer.

There’s a lot that needs to be sorted out between now and then, with Ashley and Benitez’s futures needing sorted out, however I am quite sure that fans would welcome any deal being done here – especially after the way he played in Saturdays’ 3-0 win over Southampton.

Let us know your thoughts as ever – do you see Chelsea selling up for just £15m?
