Great news for NUFC fans as it’s confirmed that loan signing will join permanently this summer

Some great news has emerged from the Chronicle, who’ve revealed that Martin Dubravka WILL sign for the club on a permanent basis this summer.

The exact fee his transfer will demand is yet to be confirmed, however a deal in the region of £4m has been suggested – meaning he could represent a superb piece of business for the club if he keeps performing as he has been.

The Slovakian international arrived on loan until the end of the season in January, swapping Sparta Prague for St James Park, and to say his performances have been assured and impressive since then is an understatement.

He produced perhaps one of the greatest goalkeeping debuts we’ve seen in February’s 1-0 win over Man Utd and has brought a sense of calm and confidence to the NUFC backline, showing several traits to suggest he’s the new number one Rafa has craved over the past 18 months.

He’s shown impressive reflexes, commands his box, looks comfortable playing out from the back and seems like a good communicator, having been happy to bark out orders to his back four ever since he was given the nod against Man Utd.

Great news for Dubravka, whose regularly said how much he wants to remain on Tyneside, and a potentially brilliant piece of business by the club.
