“He won’t be short of offers this summer” – Team-mate urges club to sign ‘brilliant’ NUFC midfielder

NUFC loanee Jack Colback ‘won’t be short of offers’ this summer according to Nottingham Forest teammate Ben Watson – whose urged the Championship club to make his loan move a permanent one at the end of the season.

Several Newcastle supporters may have been left unimpressed by Colback in recent season, however I’ve seen so many Nottingham Forest fans raving about him since he made a deadline day move to the Midlands in January.

Maybe he’s found his level, but he’s clearly doing a great job in Aitor Karanka’s side, having made an immediate impression with both fans and team-mates.

Here’s what Watson has had to say about Colback, describing him as a ‘quality player’ whose played at the highest level:

“Jack has been brilliant. Since I have got into the team, it has been me and him in the middle,”

“And he is a quality player who has played at the highest level. The more we can get Jack on the pitch and the more games we play together, it can only benefit the club.

“I think everyone at the club would like to see him extend his stay beyond the end of the season.

“But if he keeps performing the way he is, I don’t think he will be short of offers in the summer.

“It will be Jack’s decision come the end of the season. But myself and everyone else would love to see him at the club for longer.”

To some fan’s surprise, I’ve even seen a few Forest fans contemplating whether they’ll even be able to sign him in the summer, suggesting he may go on to bigger and better things based on his ‘outstanding’ displays in the Championship over the past 6 weeks.

Time will tell where he’ll end up this summer, but he’ll certainly not be at Newcastle as long as Rafa Benitez is in charge.
