NUFC scouts spotted watching winger once again – summer bid looks imminent

According to one of the leading scouting platform ‘Scouts in Attendance’, Newcastle scouts watched Galatasaray winger Garry Rodrigues yet again in their 0-0 draw with Fenerbahce on Saturday.

This is not the first time NUFC officials have been spotted watching the 27-year-old winger – a player we are believed to have had bids rejected for both last summer and in the recent January window.

Those ‘offers’ are said to have been pitched in at £6m (last summer) and £7m (January), however recent report from Turkey have suggested his asking price has now rocketed to £18m following his impressive run of form in the Galatasaray side.

He has an outstanding 5 goals and 6 assists in his last 10 games for the Turkish giants, however couldn’t help his side overcome Fenerbahce in a top of the table clash in Turkey over the weekend. Newcastle scouts were present to watch him, however.

If the asking price is to be anywhere near £18m then we can rule this one out, but it does seem that he’s a player we hold genuine interest in, with it being confirmed on several occasions that we’ve been watching him closely over the last few months.

He turns 28 this year and is not proven in any of the top European leagues, however it seems he could be a player Rafa look at over the summer if a compromise can be met on price?
