Sky Sports have proved once again that they couldn’t care less about travelling fans, with them deciding to move our trip to Everton from Saturday afternoon (21st April) to Monday night (April 23rd) – leaving NUFC fans furious after away tickets went on sale last week.
Once again, this late call from Sky will leave several fans in a mess. Tickets for this game have been on sale for over a week now, meaning several supporters will have already booked travel and hotels to Merseyside for a game that was all set to take place at 3pm on Saturday 21st April.
It’s now set to feature on Sky’s Monday Night Football two days later, and although the club have offered fans refunds if they are now unable to attend, those same supporters may not be able to get their money back on the travel and accommodation that will have undoubtedly been booked by many ahead of the trip to Merseyside.
Fans have reacted furiously, and rightly so. Here’s some examples of the outrage this has caused on social media, with many calling Sky a ‘disgrace’ after messing fans about once again with a late date change:
Trains and acommodation already booked
You’re a disgrace @SkySports @premierleague https://t.co/Hs5bBS5qzu

Even the Labour MP for Gateshead has got involved:
This is ludicrous Tickets are already sold and buses and trains booked Completely ridiculous Will fans who have made arrangements be compensated by @SkySportsPL Best not hold our breath – @SkySportsPL should be ashamed! https://t.co/DmKQ0PpJm1

To make matters worse, they’ve also confirmed that the date of our trip to Spurs will be announced in ‘early April’, with it set to be selected for Sky coverage at some point in May – yet we won’t know when for a few weeks yet!
Absolutely appalling from Sky and another example of them showing absolutely no consideration for travelling fans.
The Chronicle have since confirmed that they are chasing Sky Sports and the Premier League for a comment on this alteration.
We're chasing comment from @SkyFootball & @premierleague on this.
Have your travel plans been disrupted? Let us know.

Sky are in the business of TV scheduling and pay huge amounts for it, so they couldn’t give a flying Flick for us plebs trying to get to see our team…..
Premier league is not real football, it’s theatre….Go to the EFL if you want real football on a Saturday afternoon.
