West Ham are planning a £15 move to sign Newcastle United skipper Jamaal Lascelles this summer according to a laughable story in the Sun today – a move that we just cannot see happening for any number of reasons.
The story states that Lascelles is one of their ‘main targets’, with the Hammers ready make some big signings this summer in a bid to ease the mass frustration at the London Stadium.
They claim that the the 24-year-old ‘could be tempted’ by a ‘bigger deal’ at West Ham – stating the defender’s agent is also ‘close to the hammers camp’ – but we’re having none of it.
Not only is it the Sun, the fee and potential destination suggested just seem nonsensical for one of our best players and one of the most promising young centre-backs in England this season.
Would he swap a packed out, passionate St James’ Park for a toxic London Stadium? Would he swap Rafa Benitez for David Moyes? Would he be sold for just £15m? Would he leave for West Ham when there’s bound to be bigger clubs interested? The answer to all the above is an emphatic no.
The Sun are linking West Ham with a £15m move for Jamaal Lascelles. First of all, in today’s market – try at least double that. #NUFC

Tough choice deciding between having your own flag and fans that adore you, or toxicity and fans that will hound you ON the actual pitch.

He’s a very good young player but he will learn more under Benitez than Moyes, so why would he join our club in its current, shambolic state? Ashley is no worse than Sullivan as an owner….

We will bid £10 mill under what’s required. Nothing to see here. 😆
