The Telegraph claim that Mike Ashley will resume his attempt to sell Newcastle once our top flight safety is sealed – making several NUFC fans fear that this is just his latest ploy to avoid spending money this summer.
It’s a cynical response, but this is what happens when you’ve suffered years of Ashley’s lies and deceit – it’s very hard to trust, yet very easy to wonder if there’s a devious plan behind his ‘good intentions’.
Could he be making ‘attempts’ to sell the club this summer in a bid to avoid avoid summer spending, all while he reaps the rewards of free advertising for Sports Direct, cashes the TV money, coins in millions from potential sales and refuses to buy because he wants out?
Let’s hope not, but there’s several Newcastle supporters who’ve reacted suspiciously to the big exclusive coming out of the Telegraph on Thursday night:
Translation: Mike Ashley will drag his heels all Summer once again in order to spend no money.
