After Sunderland closed cash turnstiles this week in a bid to keep NUFC fans out of the Stadium of Light, Newcastle United’s official Twitter page have hit back with a priceless post ahead of Sunday’s game with Arsenal..
? It's another sell-out at St. James' Park this weekend.

If you don’t know the backstory behind all of this, there were (allegedly) a few Newcastle fans trying to get into Sunderland’s 1-1 draw with Norwich earlier in the week (in a bid to mock their imminent relegation we presume), however the Mackems reacted by closing all cash turnstiles for the rest of the season in a bid to keep all NUFC fans out.
The above tweet from our official Twitter account just rubs salt into their wounds and makes a mockery of the whole situation at Sunderland.
A brilliant response and one that just shows how far apart Newcastle and Sunderland are these days..
A League One bound Sunderland are struggling to get the Stadium of Light even half-full, yet abandon £1 tickets and cash turnstiles to keep us Mags from celebrating their demise in their own back yard.
Meanwhile, a 10th place Newcastle have won three on the bounce at home and have yet another sell-out this Sunday ahead of Arsenal’s trip to St James’ Park.
After how they reacted to our relegation a few years ago, this really is priceless.
Coleman saying proper Newcastle fans want Sunderland back up… meanwhile even newcastles office twitter is taking the **** ??
