Leicester fans make very interesting comments after watching Islam Slimani vs Arsenal

Some interesting comments on Islam Slimani have emerged from Leicester City fans, with several bemoaning their decision to allow him to leave on loan following his impressive performance against Arsenal.

Despite making the deadline day move to Newcastle almost three months ago, the Algerian has played just twice, racking up just 42 minutes of action in black and white.

He looked a threat during his late cameo in the 1-0 win over Huddersfield (and made a nuisance of himself for Perez’s late winner), however he completely changed the game in Sunday’s 2-1 win over Arsenal – a game many Leicester fans saw for themselves with it being shown live on  Sky Sports.

He looked a real handful and played a huge part in our winner, causing Leicester fans to say the following about the striker they’re expecting to be sold for no less than ‘£15-20m‘ this summer:

@MarkfLcfc“On my walk listening to football. They have just said slimani has been excellent , pace & power. …I’d love to keep him at #LCFC.”

@Langoh “We were absolutely batshit to get rid of Slimani.”

@Foxefan1o1“No surprise to see NUFC fans getting excited. Islam’s always been a good player, but needs to be given a proper chance. He’d get that at NUFC but he won’t be sold for less than £15-20m this summer..”

@MatthewLesterSlimani, if he can get to and maintain fitness, could be a top player for us. He is a sharp finisher. I’m not convinced he would be Puel’s preference. At times he has looked really woeful but I’m sure we’ve never seen him fully fit.”

@DeanEldredge “Nice to see Islam Slimani causing Arsenal’s defence problems for #nufc. He’s an effective target man, admittedly slow but with a solid goal ratio who provides an alternative, almost throwback striking option. What a shame #lcfc don’t have someone like him to call upon. Oh wait…”

@TheSharpeEned“Still don’t understand why we got rid of Slimani.  Easily our second best striker behind Vardy.”

@T3WL3Y “Never played to his strengths like Wood. I don’t think we won’t either next season. Let him do well & cash in. Take £15/20m if we can get it..”

Hopefully he can keep on making a similar sort of impact across our final 5 games of the season.

It may leave Foxes fans regretting their decision to let him leave, but it could just earn him a permanent move to Tyneside.
