Kenedy opens up about a potential permanent move from Chelsea to Newcastle – great news

During an in-depth interview with the Daily Mail, Chelsea winger Kenedy has admitted that he would be ‘more than happy’ to sign for Newcastle on a permanent deal if the opportunity arrived this summer.

The Brazilian has been an inspired January signing by Benitez and a player who has shone after being finally given a chance to play week in week out in the Premier League.

Rafa has made it quite clear that he’d love to make the 22-year-old’s move permanent, however he’s admitted that the ball firmly lies in Chelsea’s court – a club that may be unwilling to sell one of their top young talents.

That being said, Kenedy is loving life on Tyneside and, even though he respects his Chelsea contract, he’s dropped another big hint today that he’d love to sign permanently this summer:

“I am enjoying my time at Newcastle, but obviously I have a contract at Chelsea,”

“If something occurs then I will be more than happy, it is a good place for me. I like it.

“Rafa helps me a lot, every day. But the thing I am most thankful for is that he had belief in me and gave me this chance.

“I never imagined it would have gone so well. They have amazing fans, they are crazy for the team — fanatical, beautiful, I feel privileged to be around them.

“My first goal was an amazing sensation. When I saw the celebration in the stand, that gives you the energy to do whatever it takes.”

Great to hear, although having Kenedy on-board is only half the battle.

Will the man who replaces Conte want to keep him? Might he get a chance at Chelsea after his superb form at NUFC? Will big clubs come in for him and blow us away in the market? Would Ashley (or new owners) be prepared to pay his asking price?

Lots of questions, but a player I’d love see sign permanently this summer. Let’s hope we can make it happen.
