Speaking for Saturday’s matchday programme ahead of our penultimate home game of the season against West Brom, loan star Kenedy has admitted his love for the ‘amazing’ Newcastle fans – saying “I’m a fan of them, not the other way around!”.
The Brazilian has been an inspired signing by Benitez. He’s scored two and assisted two so far, but that doesn’t do his contribution justice.
With parent club Chelsea the only other side set to travel to St James’ Park after Saturday’s game, tomorrow’s game at St James’ will be his last before he returns to Stamford Bridge this summer.
Here’s his brilliant message to the club and the ‘amazing’ Newcastle United fans ahead of the game:
“They’ve been helping me and we’ve all been helping each other. It’s all going good, we’re doing well. We are still working hard to get better and better and stay in a better position, keeping as high as we can.
“I come from Santa Rita. To be here is good, it’s fine, you know – you appreciate it. I’m really glad to be here. And the club – they have helped me with everything. The city is very good too.
“And now, I am a fan of Newcastle’s fans. They are amazing. At first when I came, OK, but when I saw the game against Leicester, it was something amazing, and here against Arsenal as well. I’m a fan of them, not the other way around.”
Not only is he a real talent and surprisingly hard worker, he seems to be a really good lad too.
Let’s hope tomorrow isn’t the last time we see him in a black and white shirt at St James’ Park.
He is even loved on Stowell Street, Kennedy!!
