After being transfer listed by Peterborough, some amusing claims have emerged on ex-NUFC defender Steven Taylor – with suggestions that he could be the perfect signing for Sunderland this summer.
The 32-year-old ended a spell of almost 15 years at St James’ Park in 2016, having since endured spells with Portland Timbers, Ipswich Town and Peterborough.
For a player who’s often struggled with injuries, he’s played an impressive 50 games in all competitions for the Posh (scoring 4 times), however Steve Evans recently confirmed that the ex-Wallsend Boys Club youngster will be available this summer.

Let’s be honest, we can’t actually see this one happening, but Sunderland may just be on the lookout for a League One proven defender after shipping 80 goals this season – and he may just fancy a return to the North-East.
