According to the Stoke Senitel, Paul Lambert is planning a summer move to sign Newcastle striker Dwight Gayle in a bid to fire the Potters back to the Premier League next season.
The striker has struggled for form this season, scoring just five times in the league all season, however his form with us last season suggests he’s a different animal in the second tier.
Stoke have lacked a goalscorer for a few years now, and Gayle could be their man in the Championship, having scored 23 goals in 34 games during our 2016/17 promotion season.

I’m a firm believer that Benitez WOULD cash in on Gayle, but only if he had replacements lined up.
With Mitrovic well and truly in the shop window this summer and a lack of senior strikers on our books as it is, Rafa won’t be willing to part with Gayle unless he has someone else lined up. That being said, I’d back Benitez to sign a more capable striker than Gayle if we were able to recoup around £15m for the ex-Palace forward.
He’s looked out of sorts this season, but if Stoke want a striker who could guarantee them a good goal return in the Championship, Dwight Gayle could be their man..
