According to the Daily Star, Newcastle united will make another attempt to sign Feyenoord striker Nicolai Jorgensen this summer after a deal for the Danish international collapsed in January.
As we know, a £15m bid was lodged for the striker during the January transfer window, but our unwillingness to pay the £20m asking price saw any move stall, leaving us signing Leicester’s Islam Slimani on loan instead.
The Chronicle claim that Benitez has had his scouting team ‘scouring Europe’ for strikers capable of making the move to the Premier League, however the Star reckon Rafa will make another move for Jorgensen.

He’s been a hit in Holland, but I have my reservations regarding a deal for the 27-year-old. He banged them in last season, bagging an incredible 25 goals and 17 assists, however he’s scored 13 times this term – which isn’t a huge tally given the quality of the Eredivisie these days.
I will work by the logic that Rafa knows best, as he and his scouts will have watched him closely, but it’s definitely a risk.
Whether we’ll be willing to pay up this time around is open for debate, but don’t be surprised if we ‘reignite’ our interest in the 6ft 3′ striker.
